Default Crafty-ish projects to reuse and recycle

Anyone have ideas to reuse instead of throw away? For example, I take corks and make cork boards, trivits, and floor mats.

I used the foil from my husbands candies as armatures for my polymer clay projects. It keeps the finished items lighter than they would be if they were solid clay.

Instead of throwing away your milk does, either gallon or half gallon, you can cut them down and make scopes out of them. Or you can also use them as planters for indoor plants. You would only need to poke holes in the bottom for drainage. Then you could even decorate the outside to make them nice looking. If you really wanted to, you could give them away as gifts.

I take soda cans and cut them in half and start seeds in them and then later transplant them in the garden or flower bed. I have also seen some jewelery and purses made from the pull tabs on soda cans.

Has anyone seen the magazine Real Simple? They have great ideas about how to reuse things around the house to create new items either for decor or function or both!
