Mulch from tires? I had to read that twice. It did answer a question though. When I was visiting grandkids we went to several parks where this black, cushy, carpet-like stuff was laid down all over the playground. So those are made from tires! My grandkids took several falls which would have resulted in ripped-up knees if they'd fallen on hard ground. It's great for that application, but for mulch??

This is the first I've heard of different colors. I also heard it advertised today as being sold at Lowe's. I am going to look into it I think as they say it will last at least 25 years. I hope it isn't too pricey.

Having just looked at the pictures on the website that Purple was good enough to post, it's far better looking than I thought. there's photos of a blue version in florida though, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that.

I would love to try this in my son's play/swingset area but the last time I seen this stuff it was really expensive. I am not sure though how good it would be for the environment once it starts decomposing though?

I think that's the point Tater - it doesn't decompose.

I think a kid's play area is a great use of this stuff.
