I no longer use plastic unless I forget to carry my own bags. I have a shopping trolley that folds down into a tiny case, that is made from recycled PET(E). I have cotton string bags too that take up no room at all.

The times I don't have them on me is enough to give me trash bags. I do not throw away the bags I line my trash cans with. I simply empty them, use them to protect the bin (wooden) from getting messed up. So I reuse each bag probably a dozen times before it gets replaced.

I have reusable bags too, for shopping, but the occasionaly plastic bag is used for trash or for holding wet diapers or bathing suits....that's about it.
