Default Recycling clothes

It doesn't really matter how you do it, it's the fact that you do that counts!

When I was young my mom would give away my clothes once I'd outgrown them to neighbors that had kids younger than I. It wasn't thought of as recycling but it is really when you think about it, as is handing them in to a thrift shop.

How do you recycle clothes?

I do the same, give them to Goodwill or Services for the Blind. If they are too junked up for donation, I cut them up for rags, or make them into other things, like doll clothes or napkins.

I take them to the homeless shelters or to charity organizations. I do believe that there are people that need them, even if I don't wear them anymore.

It's rare that I have clothes of my own whihc are fit for passing on, as I tend to wear them was work clothes once they're no longer good as smart. I always pass on my children's outgrown clothes though, either to friends or via a swapshop organised by a local church.

We use AmVets (American Veterans) to give our old clothes to. They mail a bag with the date of the next pick-up so we remember when they will be there. We just put it out by our mailbox and they pick it up and leave a receipt. We like it a lot better than having to drive somewhere and waste the fuel.

I have two boys and do pass their clothes that they have outgrown to other friends that have sons that can use them. If they are to torn up I will cut them into scraps and use them for rags and stuff like that.

We always pass on our clothes to other people and the majority of my own clothes come from either buying from thrift shops/yard sales or handed down/over from other people.

If its not something I can pass along to another to use, and its not something that Goodwill would take, many times it turns into rags for around the house. You know the type when (I dont know lets say....) your child spills something red on the light colored carpet and you dont want to use just any old dish towel? Sometimes I make funny quilts with things too, really depends what I have to work with.
