Default Aerating Sandals

It sounds a bit odd, but part of our grow a greener lawn without killing the planet involves buying a non-gasoline lawn mower ($99-included sharpening kit) and aerating sandals to use while doing it as we have lots of clay in our soil, so it gets pretty compact after a snowy winter. After searching high and low we found a pair for only $18. They work great, but we hadn't seen any last year when we went looking. Hopefully we'll be able to help the lawn finally look like a lawn.

Default I was just thinking of this

I knew I'd seen the aerating shoes/sandals but can't find them anywhere now that I want them. The aerating tool that you can buy is a little pricey for us right now. It wouldn't get used enough to justify the expense. We have the same issue with our lawn though. Maybe someone here has tips on how to do this without any costs?

$18? That's pretty cheap for something so beneficial. Where did you find them?

I have also seen the type of aeriator that straps on to your own shoes. I'm sorry but I don't know where I saw them,

Well, I found this link for the sandals, and they are $16...

On the other hand, I remember my father did something similar with pieces of wood and screws on the bottom... they look funny and they were bigger than his feet.

I tried a set of these before but since I'm so naturally clumsy I had a hard time walking. Part of that was also because I wear a size 14 shoe and the sandals were considerably smaller than that. I've been looking into renting a commercial one that I could push like a push mower.

I'm sorry, what are aerating sandals? Are they just with spikes on the bottom so your lawn gets aerated as you walk about?

I could just send my son out in his football boots!
