Default Great link, Guy

I especially like the tip about the printer paper. I work in a retail store and we print a lot of redundant paper each day that used to end up going in the trash. I now have everyone put it in a box for me and take it home whenever the box is full. There are many things I print when researching that I don't have to keep forever so I use this paper to print on the side that's blank. Costs me way less on paper and gives the used sheets a second life before moving on to the trash. We also use it for the kids to draw and color on.

These are great tips. I remember when they used to tell you not to shut your computer off at night. Not a lot of people realize today that computers have changed and that it is better overall to shut them down or put them in hibernation mode.

Wow, that was definitely one heck of an article!

Guy: I would like to thank you for taking the time to share that, and I will even admit that I have learned some new things because of it.

What more? You even have given me an idea for a really cool thread, so you will see that in a moment!

Good read indeed, I think we can all learn something from them. And smart power strips? Those will really come in handy for some people that I know.

Our printer is a fussy little thing; the first thing it will do is spit out a paper that has just a few words printed before it even gets down to printing business. I'm telling my hubby about GreenPrint, I think it's right up our alley.
Before the printer paper goes to the recycling, I use the back of it for shopping lists, scratch paper, notes, whatever I can think of. It's a little thing but I've used the same paper for two different things before recycling.

I hardly ever print anything, but even when I needed to print something, I usually had recycled paper from my office, stuff that was used only in one side. My sister takes the paper from her office so her kids paint and draw on the side that is "clean" and it is the best way to avoid using more paper than needed.

We do that with our paper also. A lot of the time we just use the other side. The only time we don't do that is if we are printing out a report or something like that.

One of the trays in our printers at the office is dedicated to recycled paper. We print all our internal documents like notices, memos and drafts to that tray.

These are great tips to have as a reference. My computer use is the one aspect of my life that I never give much thought toward (environmentally) and there are some good tips on that list.
