Default The Body Burden

For anyone that hasn't heard of the body burden it was testing done by Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and the Environmental Work Group (EWG) to determine if environmental pollutants actual show up in our bodies. Testing has been done for a while to see if we are polluting the land and food. But, this is the first conclusive testing to show we are actually storing pollution in our bodies. The first study included 9 people. The results are pretty shocking. More recently they've expanded the testing and found pollution is in the umbilical chords of children before birth. I don't know why anyone is surprised that cancer is so common. You can read more about it here:

It takes a while to load, but it is well worth the wait.

Also, here is the clickable person listing the chemicals residing in their bodies by brand name. In case the chemical symbol means little to you, as it does to me.

Looks like it's time to flush the body out. And water probably will not be enough. Isn't it enough that we put it up in our bodies on a daily basis that we now have to worry about what we've breathe into it.

Pollution found in umbilical cords! Our newest grandson was born on 3-14, and it almost puts me into shock thinking that this innocent little one carries pollution in his body already!

It is a shocking thing. I do believe that the cancer being so common is precisely a result of the times we live in, so much pollution somehow has to affect us. We are susceptible to everything!

Yes. I guess we all just need to be educated consumers and know what we are buying. For example, a few years ago, I had no idea that perfumes and fragrances cause asthma. One of my children had asthma and when I stopped buying scenting cleaning products and wearing perfume, his asthma went away.

A lot of the things I grew up with... assuming they were safe... just aren't that safe. It's the price we pay for scientific advances. They make our lives easier, but you really have to be aware of what you are buying and using.

Oh, another example from my own personal experience. That same son that had asthma also broke out in rashes when I used regular laundry soap on our clothes. I had to buy that very expensive "Dreft" or whatever detergent for babies clothes is called and use it on everyones clothes.

Now I use unscented biodegradable detergent that is made without chlorine, perfume or dyes. It is made by Seventh Generation. Some people would say it is too expensive, but it costs me less than Dreft. I get it in bulk on amazon.com. Now the box says... it is better for the environment because it's biodegradable. I have not researched that at all, and I'm always hesitant to just believe anything on a manufactuer's box without checking it out myself. Some things say "organic," "natural," etc., these days, just to sell the product. But, Seventh Generation is a well respected brand.

It's shocking to find out that those innocent babies carry a great deal of "dirt" in their umbilical cords...

Most of our health problems are brought about and worsened by the kind of environment we live in.

It is never too late...as I have said before, maybe it is too late to repair the past but we can still do something about the future - today, in the present!
