Default How Much Space is Needed for a Windmill?

How much space do you need at minimum to put up a windmill to generate electricity? I don't currently own a home but as prices are dropping I'd love to buy one and retrofit it in a green manner, but am not sure how much space you really need for a windmill.

Fortunately there are many options and if you are really into it, you can come up with your own design. It all depends on the place where you want to have it, you have to check the local laws about it. I know of a guy that installed a hundred of small wind whirls, they were 10 inches in diameter each and very light, so they would move with the minimum presence of wind, and they were practically noise free in the top of his building. You might want to look for as many options as possible.
