Smile Environmentally friendly car?

This on the news the other night about this environmentally friendly are that will be coming out in California sometime this summer and think. It looks like a three wheeled bicycle would cover on it. Funniest looking car I have ever seen! It looks like only one or two people would be able to fit in it. Did anybody else see this on the news?

Saw this on the news. Could not believe it. Sure is not made for a family.

I seen this and for the life of me cannot remember the name of it. I don't see it being good for a family either but I would use it to go into town here. I am up to try anything if it will help the environment and help me save money on gas.

I can't see it really being a big success as so many people are worried about the safety of their vehicles in an accident. I'm sure it's been through all the tests and so on but it just doesn't *look* solid enough to me to be on the roads with all the really big cars & trucks that are so popular.

I agree I wouldn't mind it for running around town. And it sure would be a gas saver.

Why do they have to make "environmentally friendly" look dopey? I want to see these new vehicles looking as sportsy as everything else, so neither my car or myself will necessarily look different to be different. I think this will affect the public acceptance of the vehicle.

Difficult for a family as I checked out the news too but I feel it doesn't work for a family.

I don't know which car are you talking about since I didn't see it. But everything that saves a lot of money on gas, means it shouldn't be heavy, so it looks probably very small and practical for only 2 people. But that is just my theory.

I think you are absolutely right. In order to make any real difference an environmentally friendly vehicle has to be practical and to look acceptable, otherwise people will just dismiss the idea.

I couldn't agree more with the statements above. Not only should they 'look' acceptable while helping the environment, but they really need to be more affordable, too.
