Default Solar powered cars

So, what does everyone here think about the idea behind solar powered cars?

I don't think they are out there yet, at least as far as the mass market is concerned...but people have been working on them for quite some time now.

How good do you think that they would work, and would you or would you not buy one?

If they ever become generally available, which I think is just a matter of time I think, I'd seriously consider one when I come to replace my vehicle. It just seems like such a sensible idea! My car sits in the sun all day, and all that energy is wasted!

Once storage cells are perfected, I think solar cars would be great for use in cities. I don't think I would use one to drive cross country, though.

I would love to buy one of these myself, but the prices will need to be low enough for me to purchase one.

With how much some auto makers have tried to push gas guzzlers on to customers, it would be nice to see similar incentives offered for folks who actually buy environmentally friendly cars for once!

I think they still have quite a ways to go in developing, but if they ever become wide-spread and easily accessible/usable, I'd be interested in trying them out.

As soon as technology reaches the point where a solar powered car is safe, efficient and economical, I would definitely be interested. Solar energy is readily available and I think that should make it viable in time.

I think it would be a great idea, and for once you don't have to worry about leaving your car out in the sun (for all the extreme hot states like Arizona and the such). I would get one, but it would have to be within budget too.

I think they should do something on the commercial level, cars that are like golf carts to go around for shopping or short trips to downtown. Wouldn't it be great if you could drive your car and park it somewhere and then rent an electric/solar powered golfcart to do whatever you need there? Parking those carts would be included in the price for renting them. I'm sorry, I digress! I was stuck on traffic for so long I thought of stuff like that!
