Default Homebrew Ethenol still looks promising

Ethanol, the ultimate home brew - International Herald Tribune
They hope to have it on the market by the end of the year. I'd love to see more of these on the horizon. Home or neighbourhood made ethenol is a great idea, if the taxes are dropped in Europe and the UK at least, this could be the beginning of the localisation of fuel production.

Homebrew 'moonshine' for cars? This idea sure brings out the skeptic in me. How much regulation would be needed to make this safe and prevent us causing a bigger problem to the environment than already exists?

That is something that has to be regulated. It is dealing with a very dangerous substance that can explode at any time. I guess if they do it on a "local" bases, and establish regulations, someone can do it.
